Objective of the activity: To familiarize students with ACCA Qualification and the ACCA program structure

Summary/Description

On July 3 February, 2024, IIS (Deemed to be) University organized a highly informative and interactive online session for the students of B.com (H) – Applied Accountancy and Finance. It was a session with ISDC (International skill Development Corporation) to interact with the aspiring ACCA students.

The speaker of this session was Ms. Vanita Mahaddalkar, Regional Manager – Operations, ISDC, who interacted with the students, shedding light upon the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) course structure, registration documentation diverse papers, fee structure per paper, exempted papers and the abundant job opportunities available worldwide. This session aimed to familiarize the students with the overall program structure and to prepare them for their upcoming exams.

The session started with a brief introduction of ACCA, which is a qualification that has been a globally recognized and world’s most forward thinking professional accounting and finance body, offering a comprehensive curriculum and preparing individuals for a successful career in the financial realm. Furthermore, Ms   Vanita explained the ACCA Course structure as how it is divided into three levels i.e. Knowledge module, Skills module, and Professional level having a total of 13 papers (out of which 6 are exempted for the students of IISU).

In addition to this, the session also discussed about the abundant job opportunities of ACCA in about 180+ countries worldwide and its global recognition enabling accountants to work in various countries and fields such as Financial Accounting, Auditing and Assurance, Consulting and Corporate financial leaders furthermore. Also a more detailed information about the fee structure per paper which lies between €135 to €383 ranging from Financial reporting (F7) TO Advance audit and assurance.

Moreover the session also concentrated on how ACCA collaborates with leading universities globally providing routes for professional and academic qualifications, to complement the ACCA Qualification and help you to specialize in a particular field or to broaden your skills and enhance your employ-ability. The academic partnerships include: MBA from Oxford Brookes University(OBU) , M.sc from University of London .

In a nutshell, the interactive session held on February 3 ,2024 The diverse perspectives and expertise shared throughout the seminar have contributed to a comprehensive understanding of ACCA professional structure. Throughout the session, valuable discussions were facilitated, and diverse perspectives were shared, leading to a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The insights gained during this event will serve as catalysts for future advancements and collaborative efforts.

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: The seminar fostered knowledge exchange and insights about ACCA exam structure empowering attendees for future advancements.
