Definition, functions, evolution of project management, project life cycle, managing risks in projects.

Project Feasibility Study

Developing a project plan, market and technical analysis, financial analysis, evaluation of project proposals, economic and social cost benefit analysis. Project appraisal- ARR, NPV and IRR, evaluation of mutually exclusive projects.

Project Planning

Planning fundamentals, work breakdown structure and other tools of project planning- gantt charts, work packages, project organization structures and responsibilities.

Project Networking & Scheduling

Tools and techniques for scheduling development, project networks, slacks & floats and their applications, CPM, PERT, probability of completion of Project, time - cost relationship, crashing.

Project Cost Estimation & Budgeting

Cost estimating process, elements of budgeting, project cost accounting and management information systems, project control, project challenges.
