Objective: 

The main objective of the subject is to impart the knowledge about the basic elements of the Art, Drawing including line, volume, space, texture and colour.

Unit I: 
Life Drawing

Life Drawing: to become fluent with capturing the, human and animal form, Proportions, structure, volume and shading techniques.

Unit II: 
Introduction to Anatomy Drawing

Anatomy and Drawing: understanding of the relationship of bones and, muscles at rest and in movement to be able to translate this to creating and maintaining correct volumes, studying human and animal movement through, sequential drawings, gesture drawing.

Unit III: 
Importance of Principles of Animation

Importance of principles of animation- solid drawing and appeal. Difference between mannequin and manikin, Scribbling techniques, Line of action, Path of action.

Unit IV: 
Live Model Sketching

Live model sketching with complete sketching and rendering. Composition using different mediums- cross-hatching, shading, water coloring. Observing different texture styles around oneself and nature.

Unit V: 
Illustrated Backgrounds

Drawing small comic strip with color medium. Drawing illustrated backgrounds of a small story.
