Objective: 

The main objective of this subject is to impart strong knowledge about the fundamental principles of animation in addition to an invaluable appreciation for observational techniques & the art of planning.

Unit I: 
Caricature:

Simplify and exaggerate caricature in animation. Movement: Animation and movement- based, communication, making movement matter.

Unit II: 
Animation Techniques:

realistic animation vs. stylized, full animation vs. limited animation.
Introduction to animation principles and its elements.

Unit III: 

Straight-ahead animation vs. pose-to-pose animation, stretch and squash, anticipation, overlapping action and follow through, speed lines, animated thought.

Unit IV: 

Timing and action, varying the pace, effective pause, timing and mood, timing and rhythm structure. Ball bouncing, pendulum, wave motion, bird fly.

Unit V: 

Practising Human walk cycle, run cycle, jump cycle, frog jump cycle, female walk cycle. Understanding the meaning of movement and movement in nature. what movement expresses awareness of how mood and feeling can be conveyed through movement and animate and inanimate object behaviour.
